I have been using the Equalizer system for 10 years now with no problems, even when passing or running next to a large tractor trailer. I wouldn't think about NOT using it.
That being said, I think I'm more vulnerable to having issues due to a tire blowout than sway. My neighbor flipped his truck and 30' TT because of a blowout, driving the posted speed on the Pennsylvania Turnpike. His wife was hurt pretty bad, and both the TV and TT were total losses.
