Ok OK. I posted the thread because I didn't believe the difference would be THAT much until I'd run my SRW for 5000 miles and considered what it was like with a lighter camper and what a DRW must be like with so much more payload. Same camper, different truck scenario.
I now understand why people harp on getting a DRW for an AF990.
Like many though, I had the SRW already and loved the truck. I didn't want to change it out and was willing to spend money to improve it, specially since people all over felt it was doable and even the camper hauler for the dealer only used an SRW truck with airbags.
What I found out, is why I posted. it's money well spend on the DRW specially a newer one with 4:10's vs my older truck with the 6.4l and 3:55's.
There are many considerations but if I would hazard a guess the 2010 DRW in same configuration would be just as dramatically better than my SRW or darn close to it (re: my new truck). Those extra wheels and heavier suspension make a lot of difference I had not expected.
