I did the whole progression. Started with an F150 all nodded out, carried 10.5 footer and towed a boat. Drove horrible but I didn’t know it until I learned it didn’t have to be like that.
The F250 ended up all missed out, F350 springs, air bags, shocks, wide wheels, etc.
Still wasn’t great.
The first dually I had was an ‘83 Chevy 2WD crewcab, 6.2 diesel.
That was several trucks ago but it was night and day, and it was totally stock.
It didn’t need anything. (Well except the 6.2 couldn’t get out of its own way, I yanked it and put in an Olds 455, then a Cadillac 500 - which was a great truck engine!)
I’d never consider a SRW for camper use.
The “It’s too wide for where I go” argument is pure folly. Your camper and your mirrors are as wide as the duals, wider even.
But if that’s your issue, use a cab & chassis dually. They’re narrower.
