My searches have revealed installation of Honeywell thermostats which appear to be a lot nicer and more functional than the digital dometic. However, none of the installation guides refer to the control box. Is the old analog control box used with the Honeywell, or is the box deleted? Could someone give me a quick answer before I start installing the Dometic? Thanks.
The Dometic digital controls with a single signal wire as I believe it is a true digital signal.
The Honeywell and others we call digital is just the display. The signal is still analog and needs a separate wire to control each function. These thermostats need to have their own battery power as they cannot use 12v as a source.
