It would be interesting to see when these Diesels get to 250,000 miles and above to get a meaningful track record. Heck even my 07 Ford Diesel 6.0 went 355,000 before it had engine failure. A lot of stories of the old Cummins going a million miles. Time and high mileage are the only true test of longevity.
Personally I would like a new Diesel for the quietness and Power, but want it to last and not have to trade every few years to keep it reliable.
Even the biggest P.O.C. should make it to 100k miles without problems.
