In the past six years I have had 2 6.0 Chevy HD's and 2 Duramax HD's. All traded around 60-70K. The current '18 Dmax has had a DEF sensor at 500 miles. The gas trucks simply have less to go wrong, especially the 6.0, that has no cylinder deactivation, pretty caveman simple. The newer diesels have a lot potentially to go wrong. If you could get the warranty claims history for all three OEMs for the past 4-5 years it would give the truest indication of reliability. Short of that, it is pretty subjective. Stories of guys that said to have zero problems ( who forget an issue or three) and some with an ax to grind exaggerating issues.
