I would have to disagree based on what I have seen in our own fleet of 500+ work trucks that are both gas and diesel along with the vehicles that comes through or medium duty duty service departments. When used as a truck, gas engines seem to break down more. When used a grocery getter, diesels seem to break down more.
I wasn't suggesting the engines per say but the emission system.
And I am still not seeing it based on the data I stated earlier or what has been posted here from 2010+ diesel owners. It seems that most are not having these catastrophic engine failures like many keep making it out to be and in most cases the reliability is no different than any other engine. If you want me to think other wise then tell people to make more posts about these failures. That is why I made this thread to see if I was the only one that doesn't experience all the failures like the non 2010+ diesel owners claim.
