Last week, I decided to go through the posts in this forum to see what people were having problems with, gas or diesel. I went through about 10 pages of history and these are the results:
Less than 100,000 miles
2010 or newer
10 people reported engine problems that did or could have ruined a vacation or a trip. All were diesel, which did surprise me. Not one gas. This is mainly why we believe what we do. Water pumps, DEF tanks, oil pumps, high pressure fuel pumps, defective exhaust components, and one "motor blew up".
I'm thinking that comparing diesel reliability in fleet vehicles and RV owners is comparing apples to oranges.
