I'm sure since he makes his living with his truck he felt at 371,500 miles he should swap it out. Could have only replaced the head gaskets and kept on trucking but since it was a tax write off what the heck. What would you have done in his shoes if your Ford needed a head gasket at that mileage and you made your living with your truck?

So his Cummins only went 16,500 miles more then my 2007 6.0 Diesel Ford F-350 before engine replacement, interesting. I guess the big difference is the Cummins was repairable and the Ford Motor was scrap metal.

He has a Ram 1500 Ecodiesel not a Cummins.

Thanks for the info. Still impressed at the longevity of that EcoDiesel. Will watch the thread for late model high mileage Diesels.
