They do NOT automatically stop filling!!
The RED float indicator rises up as level increases and closes off tote vent. Theory is no venting.no more filling.
Except float does not seal tight enough to stop weight of water flowing downhill into tote.
Plus rv drain line and sewer hose AFTER rv drain valve will be FULL of waste water and tote is full.
FUN, FUn, Fun, fun.......
You can close rv drain valve the instant/moment you see float gauge start to move...then let line drain into tote.
Then you get to drag tote was along side of rv .....more fun when you have a rough, uneven, soft dirt/sand/gravel site to back of truck,
Then strap it down for towing.
Then slow tow (Warranty Void if towed over 5 mph----check CAUTION in owners manual) to dump station.
Then repeat if necessary.
Oh but what about black tank???
I have a tote.......turned out to be more of a PITA then benefit.
So I just dump 5vr on way out (can go full week on tanks)
If I had smaller waste tanks.......I would just hitch up....go dump and then set back up
That way ALL waste tanks are dumped....fresh water tank topped off.
And easier than messing with tote that might overfill, tip over, drop a wheel, come unstrapped etc
To me.totes are one of those aftermarket items that although for sale they are NOT needed, beneficial or worth the cost
YES I have one........it is almost like new/barely used and just takes up space in shed :B
