The only front wheel bearing I've ever had to have replaced on a GM vehicle is on a 2002 Cadillac that a "not looking" driver backing out fast from a parking lot spot hit the passenger side front wheel with his trailer hitch and bent the wheel so bad so it had to be towed to be fixed as there was fender damage also. Cracked (broke) the outer ring. Didn't hurt the casting though and it didn't need replacing. Insurance took care of it and her insurance paid the deductible too!
