they got me

thanks guys smells of Lysol and elbow grease now and im willing to bet its cleaner than when I brought it home. linens are washed as are cushions and cutlery also. tonight just have to wash the drawers I took out and the larger seized items and then reload it. hoping to be camp ready when I go to bed tonight.

Here is one for you. I hope you can get a laugh out of it as we did.....later.

Store the trailer outside in a fenced lot. Always take all food items out of trailer and inspect it each spring. Never saw a thing until the last trip. Went to visit daughter #2 and put my hearing aids on the table before turning in. Got up in the morning and both aids were gone. There was a small pile of remnants of the ear tubes but no hearing aids. As I searched behind the seat cushions I found both of them but all the parts were either gone or all chewed up.

We got some traps and baited them with peanut butter. Later that night as we sat in the trailer we saw the little bugger pop out and then run back. Sitting very still I watched him come out again and go for the snack. BLAM, we got him.

So, if you have any hearing aids, make sure you put them somewhere secure. I was lucky, it ended up only costing me about $60 to get them working. It could have been much worse if I never found them.

Seal up your trailer. Its the only way.

I keep thinking about all the people who insist that these remedies work.
I can't understand how sealing up your trailer is not step ONE advice!
Why is their step to let mice get into your trailer and then attempt to make them leave (which they will not no matter what you put in there).

Do you have any Balsam trees nearby? That appears to be the main ingredient.

I believe the directions say to take the Balsam tree and beat the **** out of the mice. Apologies in advance to any PETA types out there.

I've used steel wool too, but it quickly rusts. I found a better alternative in the dollar store. I bought some stainless steel scrubbies and unwrapped them to get a long tube. I wrapped it around wiring and plumbing where they passed through the floor. Has worked well now for two years with no deterioration.

Nature's Miracle can be had at Walmart, as well as ordered from Amazon. Many pet supply stores carry it too. Amazon also has Fresh Cab.

more concerned with making sure they are out and didn't hitch a ride home when I brought it back from storage and making sure they don't get back in. found a damaged flashing where the wiring enters the belly though so once I think they are gone I will get that all shut up tight.
