They make a load range D now

I'm going to need some new tires, ST205/75R15.

8 years ago I bought the Goodyear Marathon, in a load range C. Actually all the trailer tire brands of that size were load range C at that time.

Now I see they make a load range D of the same size. I didn't know that was possible. 65 PSI instead of 50. For example,
the "Goodyear Endurance" listed on Town Faire Tire.

So 2 questions:
Any concerns changing from lr C to D? From the numbers I assume I can reuse my old rims and everything will fit; just add 15 extra psi.

and,
What's the general opinion of the Goodyear Endurance in general? I really have no complaints about my old Marathons but at 8 years it is more than time to replace (and one of them just died from road damage anyway!)

    1: Switched to LRD 6 years ago. Maxxis had tread separating so the Endurance went on about two years ago. No issues running 65 psi. Rides better than ever.

    2: Excellent tire so far.

    I've got Endurance in range D -- 14 inch -- on a 2500 pound trailer, with a 12 foot box. Like a toddler wearing Daddy's hiking boots! ;)

    I have always up graded to range D light truck tires on all our equipment trailers, We load to 14K and never had a problem in 15 years.

    On our Creek Side 20fq it came with 205 C-rated Marathons. I replaced them at 20,000 ish miles 225 E-rated Endurance Goodyears for piece of mind. My rims on the axles were wide enough to accept the larger tire. I had to replace the rim for the spare as it was a narrower steel rim. It's a good feeling riding on E-rated Goodyears made in USA.

    When we bought our 2014 TT new, standard tire size was LRC ST205/75R15 in a generic Chinese brand. LRD Marathons were available as an option so we got those and the section width went to 225. IMO, wider is good. Max. sidewall pressure in the LRD Marathons is 65 psi and that's what I've used from day one on our 7K lb TT.

    Even with the higher load range, inflate them to the sidewall max. You'll have a higher reserve load capacity that way which is a good thing and will reduce the risk of a blowout. It's probably a good idea to check the psi rating on the rims. Can always run the new tires at a lower psi *if* you had to per load inflation tables.

    If you ran on the Marathons for 8 years, most people replace any brand of ST tire at around 5 years old.

    We're about to install new Endurance in the same width but they now become LRE. Our rims are good for 80 psi max, so that's what I going to inflate them to.

    Hmmm. I had Marathons in C, D, and finally Es before I gave up on ST tires in 2006. I will say that I remember having to order the Es.

    Goodyear Endurance gets a ton of positive reviews on here and other sites. Jayco is putting them on their campers as standard tires now. My buddy has a small Jayco camper that came with Load Range D Goodyear Endurance tires. I just swapped out my Castle Rock China Bomb tires with Load Range E Goodyear Endurance Tires. Maxxi's and Carlisle tires also get good reviews.

    if your rims are a stamped steel rim, they should have a max pressure stamped on the rim. More than likely they will handle LRD

    On the endurance, I have about 10K miles on a set I got a little over a year ago. So far I have been impressed. the balanced easily ( a sign of decent mfg) they are a speed rated tire (87mph IIRC) and so far those using them have had a good experience in general.

    And when I got mine they were the same price as Maxxis, which I had run before with good luck.

    I’ve run 14 inch Load Range Ds for a while now. 15s are also available. Not new. If your rims are rated for at least 65 pounds you’re good. 15 inch Load Range Es are also available.
