They don't trust the crossover valve and don't want to have to get up in the cold to discover they are out of propane. They choose to open one until it runs dry and then get up in the cold dark night to switch over to the spare tank. If you check your tanks you won't have a problem and will be able to sleep through the nights just fine.
That would be me. :W The number of times I've had to get up in the middle of the night to switch over from an empty tank to a full one has been exactly zero so far but should that ever happen I would much rather do that than find I'm
completely out in both tanks. :M Apparently you don't understand but likewise I don't care, it works for me. :)
