Here is another one I don't understand. Some folks out there refuse to open both propane tanks at the same time. They don't trust the crossover valve and don't want to have to get up in the cold to discover they are out of propane. They choose to open one until it runs dry and then get up in the cold dark night to switch over to the spare tank. If you check your tanks you won't have a problem and will be able to sleep through the nights just fine.
That would be me. :W The number of times I've had to get up in the middle of the night to switch over from an empty tank to a full one has been exactly zero so far but should that ever happen I would much rather do that than find I'm completely out in both tanks. :M Apparently you don't understand but likewise I don't care, it works for me. :)
Well that would be me too!
I REFUSE to open both tanks at the same time. I ALWAYS run one dry and then switch over to the full one.
Here's my reasoning:
When I know I have a full bottle I can relax knowing that I won't be freezing my duff off at 3:30AM. When the one I'm running goes empty, it's a very simple and thing to wander outside in minus 30 in my underwear and simply switch the valves. Yes I've been there and done that! :E
If I run both tanks and it runs out, then I'm freezing my butt off until the morning when something is open to get them filled.
When I switch I know I have a couple days to refill.
And yes I have full timed in minus 34 and gobbled a 30 pounder every 3 days keeping things warm!
My rig is older and doesn't have all the fancy doodads to do things for me. Full manual, that's it.
