Geese guys,isn't this horse dead enough yet? I just had to post again to be able to click the button that stops the constant sharing of every comment on a topic. To be truthful, for my part I've felt very patronized by a few of the posters on
many occasions and been downright disrespected for innocent comments in the past. I've given up offering much if any input on most topics as the one-up-manship has worn thin. I tried to be helpful and not critical but this forum tends to get to be simply an idle form of entertainment seeing the darker side of people. When I first found the site my thought was it would be nice to have a place to visit with others about 1. Camping 2. Camping with a truck camper 3. Getting information for help when needed 4. Offering help based on my personal experiences of 60 years of camping 5. Possibly meeting some nice folks along the way. Well, we met the nice folks, all one couple of them, that we relate with and who will be life long friends. It's been said if you have one true friend you're very lucky, in that respect this forum has succeeded for us. While lots of the information offered is good and enlightening, the peeing contests and comments like the ones that started this thread which often ensue, aren't. I wonder how many young or new hopeful truck campers and campers of all types are being put off but this unseemly behavior by so many of the "regulars"? I'm one and have decided to go back to lurking, looking for those bits of information that might actually be posted that I can use and skip the rest, laughing at the desperation for recognition or control that so many small people and small minded people without real lives here exhibit. It's been interesting and very disappointing at the same time.
