I have extra water tanks on my trailer, plus some barrels for the waste water so I've got about 100 gallon total capacity. I use a 120-volt Harbor Freight water pump with garden hose fittings on it. I also carry a spare 12-volt camper water pump just in case, because.... Harbor Freight... but I haven't had it fail for years now.
Having your trailer also function as an auxiliary support system is a great idea, it works well.
I got my water tanks free from old junked campers. Here in the Pacific Northwest, most RVs are doomed to leak and rot long before their parts are bad.
