Maybe in the flats, but if you're coming from 3 diesels to this, you may want to hook your trailer for a test drive and point it up a hill to see if you like the 5krpm 2nd gear run and 7 mpg.
I'm on my second 6.2 company truck and they are good trucks but after a trip to AK with about the same as you in the bed and a 3000? Lb single axle Sno machine trailer, getting 8-8.5 mpg, I would just spring for the diesel for my personal use.
