I have had a 04 F250 6.0 POS and a 06 F350 DRW 6.0 no probs, and currently have a 08 F250 6.4 that is not stock. It has more power than the new 6.7PS. I have 450 hp at the rear wheels and 900lb/ft of torque at the rear wheels. so the 6.7 would not impress me performance wise. I have 100K on this truck with the first 50K being stock and the other 50K being as it it now. I do not mind less fuel milage or a little noise under the hood. The main reasons for the change are my current truck is regular cab and I want CC the other is the warranty is out and any repair on any newer diesel is crazy expensive. The third is I will get 4x4 this time. and finally the interest rate is 1.75% at my credit union. This truck will be with me for many years. I do not go to the mountains very much we usually go to the coast so screaming at 5K rpms should not be a huge problem. thanks for any comments.
Staying out of the mtns, the 6.2 will pull er alright.
Regarding the expense of diesel repairs...... After 3 different versions of Fords biggest mistakes when it comes to pickup trucks, maybe a more reliable diesel would help, like a Cummins or Dmax.
