My advice as not-too-long-ago newbie is buy used too.
Not that used doesn't cost money but to be frank, we've done a lot of learning on our first FW. We love it and hope it serves us for years to come but there have been a few things that I am SO GLAD we learned (the hard way) on a paid for rig than on something we put a chunk of savings or payments on. KWIM?
Having lived with ours a few years in we now know better what we would like to look for in the future. I am certain that had we jumped into new for our first RV we would already be regretting what we would have chosen at that time.
