Thinking of getting into the TT market

I am a total newbie,

I am thinking of buying my first travel trailer... my wife and kids are sick of the tent. I have been looking at a Jayco Swift SLX, but I don't know the first thing about RV's.... and don't want to get scammed by dealers.

What do I need in terms of accessories when buying the trailer?

Is the Jayco Swift SLX a good model?

Also, in Denver this weekend there is a RV show - Are these the best place to buy a TT?

Thanks,

  • Although going to a RV show is a great way to do an imaginary "live in" in a lot of different floor plans.

I bought used and don't regret it. Although from much reading, my understanding is to shoot for a minimum of 30% off of MSRP on new trailers.

However, thanks for bringing this to my attention and we may stop by that show and take a look.
  • No. As a first trailer, buy used. Why take a bath on a new trailer that you likely will be selling in a couple of years for another one. Just does not make any sense.
