If there is no 'we' in equation, get the smallest hardside you can find with small tanks and no air conditioning. Widen you search to include the greater L.A. area and even up into the San Joaquin to get the widest market. Even with a 'we' our little Lance Lite (1842 pounds, wet) has worked out very well. Well enough to consider a four month tour clockwise around the international boundary U.S. States in the fall. (Sept. 1st to New Years Day)
We have camped and travelled over 200 days/nights in the box. If i were in your shoes, a small hard side with the all-season package and no air conditioning looks good. Just a caution: a small hard side TC automatically invites you, personally to get out there and enjoy your days and nights, because you can at a moment's notice.
