You are incorrect. I had the Honda 2000i, my buddy bought the champion. We had them about 10feet away from each other and you could not tell the difference between the two. I sold my Honda and bought the champion. Runs my 15k AC in Phoenix, AZ summer heat, just won't run the AC and microwave at the same time. Will run my buddies 13.5k and his microwave though.

It will run mine in Phoenix, AZ summer heat. I can't run the AC and microwave with it, but we rarely would need both at the same time anyway. It will run AC and everything else, just not microwave.

Ugh, decisions..decisions. Do i buy and hope it will run a 15K? I hate to not buy it at this price.

Mine ran my 13.5K AC at 8,500ft this summer when it hit 90. It is quieter then when I had to parallel 2 Honda 2,000 to run the same AC. I love mine except I don't have the electric start version. These gensets should give Honda a run for their money. If anyone is interested they now have a extended run kit you can purchase through Champion.

It may, but in hot weather it may struggle to hot-start a 15k a/c. I have the 3400w model and it runs my 15k perfectly.

multiply 3.5% x 4 (4,000 ft) = 14% power loss. Then multiply .14 x your
generator’s power rating: 4,000 watts x .14 = a loss of 560 watts at that altitude.

Power decreases in extreme temperatures by 1% for each 10° F (5.5° C)
above 85° F (29.4°C)."


My 2,000 watt Champion generator lost considerable power when used at 7,700 feet elevation.

This is a great buy on a good unit but I think a 15000 AC might be pushing it over it's limits. It runs my son's 13500 just fine, even when using the micro wave, but you'd need to try if to find out for sure. I'd hate to buy one only to find out it won't work on your AC.
