Did any of you think, that "just maybe" he was telling the truth! If you call GM and ask them the tow rating for my deisel dually dmax, they will tell you 5K lbs! yep! because it did not come fromt eh factory with a hitch! so they go by the bumper capacity!
At the end of the day, it is up to the customer to know if the truck will do as it should for them! I had an 89 R3500 dually, talk about a poj, it had a th400, 454, 4.10's.....but do tot he super tall gearing in the tranny, it could not move its own wt 8500 lbs empty on a 15% grade! much less the gcwr of 16K lb!
