Perpetuated by ignorance of their customers...the main herd out there who do not
know enough about OEM specifications/ratings/etc
Brother was looking for a new car and I went along to help
While he was in the 'room' finalizing the paperwork...I moseyed over to look at
their SUVs and pickups
Noticed a tricked out half ton with a sand bar/roll bar that also had the spare
tire mounted on it. Next to nothing left for cargo in that bed
A kid came over to 'sell' me one...asked why the spare tire was not underneath
like the OEM...he thought for a second and said the shocks were serious off
road and too big so they had to move the spare tire up there...
Amazing and betcha he convinced some buyers of that...
Turned out to be the dealership owners son and when the manager heard
me giving that kid a bad time...he came over and told the kid his dad
wanted him up in the office...
