To answer rjxjs question:
I own a 2004 Suburban 2500 with the 8.1 gas engine, tow package with all the additional coolers for oil, power steering and transmission. It has the heavy duty 4-speed 4L85E automatic transmission, the 4.10 POSITRACTION rear diff. Also has the AutoRide suspension system.
It is rated to tow 12k with a 1500 tongue weight rating.
