I am probably the biggest Modular Motor fan in Tennessee LOL.
I currently have a 4.6 in my Town Car, a 5.4 in my previous F150 and a V10 in my Dually. My next HD truck will ideally be a V10 F250 Crew Cab.
I personally would not have a problem with a 5.4 in a Crew Cab towing 9,000 lbs... however, the MPG disparity between the 5.4 and the V10 is nonexistent while towing. Empty you may be looking at 1-2 mpg hwy MAX difference.. and probably not even that.
