Both appeal to a certain mindset/worldview that has little to do with the original purpose of the item and even less to do with intrinsic value. In both cases, prices are kept high more because of the "it's the best" illusion than for any other reason.
Frankly, I'd be embarrassed to own either one for fear of appearing to have fallen for the hype.
I guess that makes me just as big a snob as any Airstream/Harley owner! :B
:) Hi, I love my Airstream, but have never cared for Harleys. Airstreams are expensive, in part by the way they are built. The weak area on almost any trailer is wood. And Airstreams wooden floor is their weak spot if leaks are not taken care of quickly, or prevented, you have a major project on your hands. Yes there are camping snobs; I'm not one of them. The way I see it, the family in the old run down box trailer (just an example) are having just as much fun, or more, than the people in the million dollar diesel pusher.
