timbrens

I am replacing the air bags on my F-350 and have a question..

My fiver is around 3k pin depending on trip.. The truck squats a little bit when loaded, I was thinking of going Timbren this time around...

Anyone have good-bad experiences?
Are they leveling the truck as stated?

All my weights are in order, so let's not go there.. just purely a leveling helper....

  • I have sumo springs on my truck , had timbrens on another truck like the sumo better
  • I have had them on my truck for nearly 15 years and had to work with them to get the right gap in the unloaded state, but they were great in helping, and I like them a lot.

They work really well with the coils on my 2500. I don't notice any difference unloaded but they firmed up the ride nicely when we're pulling the fifth wheel. There's probably a 1/2" or a bit more of a gap unloaded. I've had them on for almost 5 years with no issues, and obviously they're zero maintenance.

Most of the complaints I've read on them are from guys with half tons, and I could see them impacting the ride more with a softer suspension that would let the axle slap into them harder. I think I paid under $200 for mine on etrailer.

Same here. I can feel them engage when driving unloaded and the suspension compresses enough, but it's not a big shock.
  • I have had timbrens on my 2011 Ford F250 FX for 7 years. I carry a 3500 truck camper when it is loaded ready to camp, they work great and the lower stable loads help a lot also.
