Time to fix her up

We have our first trip of the year planned for March. The trailer is over 10 years old now, and with this Arizona heat it's time to do some repairs and upgrades.

I'm planning on replacing the flexible L.P. lines from the tank to the trailer. I currently have a Marshall L.P. valve. Seems good so I'm planning on keeping it. Any problems seen with this?

My 30lb tanks are past their expiration dates, should I get new ones or have the current ones re certified?

Time for new tires, I currently have Triangle brand tires. I see Amazon has Carlisle Radial Trail HD Trailer Tires for $75 each... thoughts?

Last one, the mattress is done, any thoughts on a good quality trailer mattress. I wonder if a queen size mattress would fit?

Those are the big ticket items, I'm also going to replace the bathroom vent fan, outdoor shower, check brakes, grease the bearings and finally check the roof.

    As long as the tanks are not ruaty, recert shouls only cost about 10 dollars plus gas each. Tires? Go to discount tires and pick a decent tire. Replqce the hoses. Mattress? What size? Again a mattress store and pick one that your comfortable on.

    carlisle tires have a bad rep from day one. find a well known brand michilin,, maxxis , and go one load range more, if it calls c go d,s yep they cost more but I hate sitting on the side of the road with a flat. or worse the under carriage of the rv torn up. and sign up for coach net road service. throw in a roll of duck tape.

    Jeff, get a set of Goodyear Endurance tires from Discount Tire. They are made in the USA and in my opinion they are the best you can buy for your RV. Don't take a chance with China bombs.

    I agree that whatever load range TT tires you have, up it by one...Cs to Ds, Ds to Es etc.

    We bought one on Amazon for $400 and I was really pleased, but I wish that I had gone to a mattress store to test before we bought, but we were lucky

    Carlisle Radial Trail HD are excellent tires.
    I have been running Carlisle tires for decades without a problem. The same as many people I know that run Carlisle without any issues.
    I wouldn't pay any attention to the internet myth about Carlisle tires being sub-standard.

    I see some are Ok with the Carlisle tires. I am not. I ran a set for 3 years and all 4 showed signs of abnormal wear on the inner ribs. There's no way all 4 wheels on my rig are out of alignment. What do I expect for $75 tires?

    Only problem with tank recertification is that the stickers that they use don't last long. Use some clear tape on them.

    Had 2 Carlisle radial trail RH (not HD) blow up on me on the last summer trip (actually they held 80 psi but the tread came off).
    Goodyear endurance for me.
    Probably no rust on AZ tanks.
