After completing a 2 day trip one way, when you return home and do those short distance trips again, they will seem like nothing any more. You'll want to go on another long distance trip, and each time, you'll want to go farther and farther.
Advise? Yes, I can give some! Be prepared to have your mind altered as the current "short drives" will become even "shorter" and the new "long drives" won't seem so long any more because you'll be going even farther the next time! So be prepared for a mind-set-change (for the better!)
You have nothing to worry about, just go and have fun! Remember, there's always a WallMart at almost every intersection in America in the event you forget something! Have fun!
