put plywood over the tires on the side the sun hits, that should keep the IR/UV off the rubber, so you get a bit more time out of them.

I've got dang near 5 years out of a Discount tire badged tire and mid 40 K miles. Still doing good, but not going to say much about the traction in general. A typical SUV performance style road tread. The toyo equal on spouses ML is a better traction tire. but could be AWD vs open diffed 2wd pickup too!
