The D tire will run cooler at 65 psi than a C tire at 50 psi carrying the same weight.
I ran two 16' 7k cargo trailers with 3500 lb axles I used in my business as our job site tool trailers. They came with 15" P and C tires. Moved up to a 15" D tire and they ran much cooler to the touch. When you make a living on the road pulling trailers you learn fast what to feel and how to feel for tire/wheel/hub temp changes.
