Boy it must be comedy hour… you speak as though you are well above us mere mortal civilians and your help is in the form of dictating what we all should do just before bowling done in praise at your feet…
“Keep in mind that it is LowSuv's intention to help the civilians on this forum with their tire issues .”
Somehow I missed all the logical evidence… I have only heard the twisted evidence that you claimed a Maxxis tire for a sports car did poorly in some unrelated test …and that to you proves their trailer tire must also be the worst tire ever built…
“LowSuv includes in his posts the logical evidence that indicate that Maxxis is a provider of lower grade
tires .”
by your type of logical evidence the GY ST marathon must be a great trailer tire because it is made by good year another tire you highly recommend…
“Other motorheads on his forum who have decades of experience upgrading their tires on their hotrods , sportscars , pickups , and other trailers have a good understanding of how a real upgrade in tires is possible for little expense at changeover time .”
Dang I am mot one of your motorheads… thank heavens for that… still I have engaged in upgrading tire where it makes sense… and it would seem my tire program as served me very well over my 60 plus years resulting in only one blow out but that blowout was on a LT Michelin tire on the TV…
“LowSuv does not enter into personal attacks on this forum .” now that’s funny I don’t care who you are…:B:B:B
“Maxxis ST tires are most often supported on this forum by references , such as " I really like them " , or " my tire guy ( whoever that is ) says you cannot use LT tires on a trailer ".
MY Maxxis tires are supported by my reference such as I really like them, because they have worked , and worked well… something I and other users reported and you just discount it because it doesn’t fit your model that you want to project…
“My whole intention is to allow other RV forum members to make a real upgrade that will eliminate / mitigate future ST tire failures going forward .”
You occasionally list some tire choices that might fit, might be barely of sufficient load carrying capacity, and may fit the trailers rim and trailers clearances…by using European sized tires that often if not in most cases do not support the tire for trailer use by the mfg.…
“The evidence supports the position that Maxxis tires are not a better brand than other ST tires .”
You have offered no such evidence on which tire is better and you have no such evidence to make you claims and you never have… just opinions you have formed, but that is not evidence…
“Those suggestions that just replacing OEM tires with a maxxis tire of the same load weight rating are just plain wrong . There is no gain to be made by that Maxxis replacement .”
Just replacing a OEM tire with a Maxxis of the same size and load rating is most likely an improvement… as the maxxis has been building a better tire based on their users of the tires.. although upping the size and load rating would be even more beneficial for most…
There must be a reason for Maxxis customer loyalty, and there must be a reason that now other ST tire builders are beginning to add the safety features that Maxxis has always incorporated…
“LowSuv repeatedly gives reasons why for 15 inch tires the 225/70R15 load range D Goodyear Cargo G26 is the clear first choice .”
LowSuv repeatedly gives reasons why for 14 inch tires the 205R14 Kumho 857 load range D is the clear first choice .”
Again he offers choices he THINKS will work but has no independent knowledge to substantiate his claims.. his Kumho 857 as a clear choice is one that hasn’t worked out so well and yet many using them have had blowouts too often multiple blowouts on the UPGRADED 857 on light weight trailers… as well as the Kumho company has had several cases brought against it for using too much used rubber in the construction of some new tires…
“A search through " view posts " for LowSuv will show that his suggestions are supported by logical evidence and have been consistent for a long time .”
More likely the search would show that his suggestions are supported by what is his opinions of logical evidence is, and it has been somewhat consistent unless he picks up anything else that even seems to support his beliefs to be incorporated into his sepal… these illogical beliefs he spouts off about are mostly a collection of beliefs of sever likeminded cohorts that back each other up and normally in gang land style attract anyone that disagrees
The rest of this are just words offering nothing but words…
“As a motorhead LowSuv made his first tire upgrade in 1964 on his 1955 BelAir by going to 720x15 tires instead of the 670x15 tires that came stock .
LowSuv has been upgrading his tires ever since .
I encourage upgrading tires at replacement time .
Changing brands to Maxxis does not accomplish this .”
