Say no more. My '04 Chevy 2500HD was also 2WD. I put in a limited slip differential and that helped, but I still had episodes of wet grass traps. I eventually went to TransForce AT and was extremely pleased with the performance. Good traction in wet grass, boat ramps, and snow. They wore like iron and got my 2WD many places it wouldn't go on HT tires.
TransForce AT's are not terribly aggressive, but enough to give better bite. They also don't produce much road noise at all.
