I have a dual wheel truck and will be putting extenders on the tire valve stems. I can't check the air or add air to the inside rear wheels now unless I remove the outside wheels.Even the outside wheels are difficult to work on. Do most of you use the extenders? Do you use metal or rubber stems? My valve stems are metal currently. Any advice?

What is needed is a extended valve stem that will let you quickly check your tire pressure. Extenders have a very bad habit of leaking. The best on the market,that are the original,are Tire Man. Chuck is the original designer of these an he has been around for years. If you have any questions just give him a call, he is always happy to help.The kit looks like This it is for all 6 wheels,they also come with flow-thru valve caps so you don't even need to take then off to check the pressure.Here is a list of all the products he sells.

I put the 4 inch extenders from camp world on my rears. They protrude far enough to get a straight head gauge and filler on them. Ive also got the 90deg extenders on the outer wheels so that I can read them the same way. Put small amount of locktite on them no issues.

I had the Tire Man set on my dually F350. Great product. :)

Mine are flexible and clamp to outside tire, which tire people can not guess this clamp tight enough on the rim. A lot of the ones I read about would soon leak. mine are heavy braid and have been good thus far. I have about 17,000 miles on the truck so not a long term test. Go to Amazon as well and read the reviews. Next time around I might try the solid extenders. However mine are great as long as the clamp is tight. Course its a little hard to get a wrench on the nut.

I had Alcoa one my previous Ram that replaced the leaking cheap plastic ones.
Worked for 10 years of my ownership.

I've tried 3 different brands of flexible valve extenders, and all leaked. One leaked immediately, and the other two leaked after a longer time period. One lasted nearly 2 years before it started leaking.

Now I use a tire gauge and air chuck that will reach the stems without extensions.

For a little different slant google Myers Tire Supply in Charlotte NC and look up the "Air Flex extensions"....pretty unique...I ordered a pair that were 5 & 11/16" long for a total of $26.26...

I ordered PN 22303.. some order PN 22304...I like them a lot...easy install and work like a champ with no extra weight on the valve stem and the extension doesn't need to be locked down

I've run stainless extenders that go to steel valve stems on our dually for a number of years. I think they are "Tire Master". Been on for about 150 thousand miles and no problems. But they do need to run to steel valve stems. Looking at big rigs quite a few run stainless extenders to a gauge on the hub. If those boys use them, they are good to go.
