I was going to buy new tires before the winter weather came around, but the prices were kind of high so I decided to wait...well, prices are higher now and going up! Bridgestone, Michelin, Goodyear all north of $300/tire with some of the better tires at or a little over $400/tire :E

Some financial dogs would suggest that you not buy new tires. The lack of demand will bring the price back down where you expect. I am glad that I have been running a summer set and winter set on each of my vehicles, so I have a few years before I will need to buy again.

How long can you wait? Another 3 or 4 years? It can only get worse.

check craigslist or whatever you have locally. Out here there are always new vehicle takeoff offered and there also a lot of independent tire sellers. Yes I know the costs are high as I had a bridgestone with a slipped tread over $1000 to replace all on rear with 1 being adjusted out. Had a tire separation on my F350 a couple of years ago tore up the bed on truck, called bridgestone who recommeded I go to their tires since its used mainly on highway. Again over $1000 with all being adjusted out per the manuf with the shop.SO just need to shop around or travel out your area for possible better deals.

Look at Toyo. Mine are about to age out. No problems for 7 years.

If your not particular about what tire your running, the take offs are by far the best deal. I went through Simple Tire and found for 265/70/18 which I assume close to your size, the Nitto G2 was 240 a tire, Toyo AT3 was 270 and Falcon Wildcat AT was 275. I found that I can buy these tires locally, installed at these prices, your mileage may vary. I have run or am running all of these. I think the Falcon is the better all around tire. The G2 for us lasted a long time, if Winters were not so brutal here, it could have went longer even.

Just do like I did and get free tires. Had 36,000 miles on my 2018 RAM 2500 and about 4,000 tread left.
Just bought a 2021 RAM 3500.
Tires are like new (5700 miles).

Must be a different market where you're at, or you're just speculating.
Quick CL search by owner in a 250 mile radius, just for Rams, I stopped counting after a dozen different sets of 8 lug complete tire/rim combos from new to "80%". Prices were anywhere from $500 to a few over $1000 if they were brand new and "fancier" black rims or something.

That said, the whole set, tires and rims are more plentiful than just new takeoff tires, IMO.

Thank you, I wish it was mine. I just get to use it whenever I need to work on something.

It has an office (mostly used for a lunch room), laundry facilities, full bathroom with a shower and a fully equipped woodshop.

I do get to store my ATV and a few other things in there. It is really a really nice.

Yes, it's quite common for someone to put custom wheels and tires on a brand new vehicle and roll the cost into the payment. So someone gets stuck with a set of brand new tires and wheels.

HOWEVER, when there are "no new vehicles to be had" then there are no take-offs to be had.

Also with the "tire shortage" (I'm tired of people crying shortage, by the way) the value of these "take-offs" if you can find them, has increased at least proportionally in relation to the value of tires.

Discount tire quoted me $1,320. Plus tax for 6 Brigstone OEM 17” tires for my F350 DRW.

When I stepped up to 18" wheels I bought like new factory takeoffs.

I didn't shop for tire and wheel combos because I seriously doubted that the Toyo tires I wanted came on a GMC 3500 Denali.

$ 1575 for a set of toyo AT3 just last week and that is just the rubber sitting in my garage as my winters are on. LT 275/65 20 for a 2017 350. that is 300 better than any price I could even find up here in the North country.
Shopping wheels now and with sensors looking at around another 2200.
here is the kicker for me..... In the past year... new Sailun on my toyhauler, new Carlisel on my drift boat trailer, new winter blizacks for the truck and now the toyos....ouch!!!! if you want to play you have to pay.
