Tires: Maxxis Not Available. Plan B?

Sidewalls on my Maxxis M8008's are developing cracks, so time for new rubber.

Would love to go with Maxxis again, had great experience with these and they get good reviews here. Problem is, I can't find any in the Denver area. According to Discount Tire, they are on "indefinate backorder". Whatever.

What I can find at several shops is the Goodyear Marathons and the Carlisle Trail RH. My size is 225/75-15D. Also came across Taskmaster Provider ST, but I never heard of these before.

If I have to go with plan B, which is the better choice?
  • I agree... Maxxis is the only way to go. Gonna continue shopping around and see if Discount can order me a set.

The more I read, the more I am turned off by Marathons and Carlisles. Seeshh..
  • Discount Tire in Prescott, AZ had to order mine but I didn't mind waiting. Maxxis tires are the only brand I'll run, my first set went 12 years problem free. I would go to the Maxxis website and find another dealer in your area.

  • Dealers routinely claim they are on "backorder" so they can push their own brand. Don't fall for it.
Someone posted the same thing a while back in my area. I called the place I bought mine from and they said no problem.

If I absolutely could not get them I would go to 16" wheels and get some good LT tires.
