tires

we just got back from a 3500 mile trip and the tt tires, which are brand new, were fine. but at every destination i checked pressure and lug nut tightening. i'm taking it in for some minor warranty issues and there is a sign at the dealer offering nitrogen tire fill. has anyone done this? is it worth it and does it really relieve the hassle about tire pressure? any feedback is greatly appreciated.
  • The air we breathe is 78% nitrogen so I'm putting mostly nitrogen in my tires when I add any air.

When nitrogen is FREE I'll put it in my tires until then I'll use the diluted nitrogen as it is free I just have to use my own compressor.
  • I have had TTs with air in the tires and when they get low I add air
I have also had TTs with nitrogen in the tires and when the went low I added air.
  • I've forgotten the specifics, but Trailer Life had an article on nitrogen a few months ago. After reading it, I didn't see any need to bother with it, and if I did, nitrogen is not readily available. Like you, I'm constantly checking my tires. At every diesel stop, the first thing I do is walk around the entire rig, placing one hand on the tread and the other on the hub, checking for excessive heat.
  • I'm curious. During those 3500 miles, did you have to add much air, or did your lug nuts loosen up?
