BTW nice choice in trucks. You'll love the CTD.
The friction bar is for sway control, not WD. Many WDH don't even have sway control.. two separate functions.
Sway control isn't needed if the trailer is properly loaded, but WDH might be.
As others have said it is not "needed", but it sure is nice with it setup properly.
