Our last trailer scaled fully loaded at 5,500#. Moved from an F150 to the F250 we have now, and brought the WDH along with it. Got curious if it was needed, and decided to pull without the spring bars, but brought them along anyway in case I didn't like it. Learned pretty quick that I didn't need them. Never needed the sway control either, but rigs vary widely in how they pull and you will only know by trying it, with due caution.
