It's hard to believe when your trailer is 20' 6" coupler to bumper and the OP's is 28' 10". :R A family trailer with double size bunk beds, with family stuff in it, and he's only adding 400 lbs? My own couple's trailer is 22' 6" coupler to bumper, we pack light compared to many, yet with just my wife & I using it this trailer's GVW averages ~ 1000 lbs over it's factory sticker dry weight of 3815 lbs. Sorry, I don't believe the OP is carrying just 400 lbs over his trailer's sticker dry weight ... not for a minute. :R
