I just bought a Truxedo TruXport from Amazon.com. Installed it yesterday in about two beers. The reviews are excellent, although I cannot comment specifically on it. Seemed like good quality, an easy install, and looks good too.

Same experience here. I have the Tonno-Pro tri fold. I bought it years ago for my Tundra and it did a great job of keeping the bed dry. When I bought my Ram, I swapped the Tonno-Pro over to the Ram. It doesn't fit perfectly, it hangs over at the rear corners a little bit, but it still seals rather well and keeps things dry.

Its lite weight and easy to install and remove. Literally 2 wing nuts to tighten it to the bed rails at the front of the bed. Its easy to open and close, literally 2 snap handles to tighten it to the bed rails at the back of the bed.

You can't open it without opening the tailgate, so you have some "security" with it. Its super easy to cut through the material if someone was motivated... but it keeps things out of sight and (hopefully) out of mind when parked in a busy parking lot.

It folds onto itself, leaving 2/3's of the bed exposed in seconds, and is lite and easily taken off and stored at home or in the bed if you need more room.

Hinges are decent quality, foam has held up over 5+ years.

We had a huge snowstorm last winter and had about 3' of snow sitting on top and it didn't stretch, tear or otherwise deform.

If you can't tell, I really like it and highly recommend it!

Another vote for Access. I use my low profile "Vanish" model with a fifth wheel. Does not interfere and the low profile leaves plenty of clearance between the cover rails and the bottom of fifth wheel. Rails only about a half inch above bed. Made in the USA and good quality. Mine is about 3 years old and still looks like new. Good luck finding what works best for your. Keith

Yeah there are options all right, too many in my book. Going through the same decision making process myself. On my old truck I have the hard top Fold-A-Cover which has worked great with towing a fifth wheel. But not sure I want to spend $900 for a new one. The soft top roll up covers are less expensive but it looks like a lot of them have mounting hardware that attaches to the side of the tops of the bed rails which reduces the width opening between the rails. This concerns me as to the possibility of the king pin striking the cover mounting hardware when making a turn. The Fold-A-Cover hardware mounts to the top of the bed rails so no concern. The other thing I don't care for with the soft covers is the Velcro that holds the cover to the mounting hardware. Seems like a lot of bother to roll up or roll down the cover as you have to pull up or smooth down the cover from each side of the truck.
So I too am interested in any feedback from fifth wheel owners using a tonneau cover.

I have the Access Lorado on my truck. The original cover lasted for 8 years before it finally gave up to the sun and UV. I just ordered a replacement and reused the existing hardware and I was back in business. Excellent product.

Wow. I didn't know there were so many options. So, some clarifying questions: I'd like to use this in conjuction with towing a 5th wheel: 1. Some look rigid. That couldn't work with towing a 5er could it? 2. the type that roll up like a garage door - when they are rolled up do they impact the storage capacity of the truck bed? If I wanted to store a generator in the front of the truck bed, would the roll up tonneau still roll up? and 3. I'm only interested in one that would be lockable. So do those added requirements eliminate some of these that have been offered? And with this new criteria in mind, what would you recommend? Thanks for your help.

For me, the extang tilt type is great. Here is a pic of it on my old 97 F150. I was able to transfer it to my 13 F150, so all the better!



I also have the BedRug in the 13 and the combo has been great!

Here is the 13 with the cover closed.



I can take the whole cover off in about 1 minute. Simply unsnap the gas struts, lift up the top and slid it out of the front hinge.

You can also 'peel' the cover off the frame and roll it up. The support bars just slide in.

Before this one, I had a non tilting cover, so you had to 'peel' the cover off each time, or open the tailgate and crawl in.

Anyway, to date, I've not had to take it off and just tilting it works so well, I'll get another one if/when needed.
