Tell me about your experiences with Tonneau Covers: The good, the bad and the ugly. What brands do you like, styles, types features etc.

  • We bought an Undercover when our truck was new (2007) and have never removed it. Within a few weeks of its installation, we realized it had rubbed the paint off one small spot on the outside of the truck bed. Interestingly, that spot has never rusted, even though it's been down to bare metal for almost 9 years now. (As you can tell, we never fixed it; we figured we would if it started to rust.) Removing the cover, the few times we have needed to, was kind of a pain; the main good thing about that is that the cover itself is quite light, and 2 people can handle it fairly easily (even being old. :) ) It hinges up, and it locks - and we wanted both features. It has done a passable job of keeping things dry even with snow sitting on it & gradually melting.
  • I've had a couple Access covers, on a couple different trucks. They are top quality, long lasting, will hold several feet of snow without issue, and they stand behind their product. I think they are manufactured by your neighbors in ND. Their dealers have better pricing than you can get from Access.
