Concur with the others. Think smaller. Dry weight, shoot towards IMO 1/2 to 3/5 your tow vehicle's max tow rating. It is REAL easy to overload your trailer axles with cargo added and tow vehicle drive axle on a non full size SUV. I took mine to the CAT Scales and it was eye opening.
You will need an electric brake controller, ensure it is a "progressive" type and NOT a "time" based type. My initial mistake. Timed just increases braking up to lockup the longer you have your foot on the brake. The progressive detects the slowing down and lessens the brake application voltage when slowing down.
You will also need a weight distributing hitch. Get the kind advertised with built in sway control. Read about WDHs in the threads here. Figure $3-500 for that if you don't get one of the top lines.
