I grew up in communism, where we had shortage on everything.
Whatever come on the market- was sold on the spot no question ask.
Common practice was to open the box in the store and test it, that include plugin in TVs and radios as lot of them left the factory with defects.
So coming to USA 30 years ago I was happy with great customer support, life-time warranties and easy product exchange.
But in last years I am having dejavu.
The torklift tie-downs I was installing 3 months ago come with holes filled up with powder coating.
Since I failed to inspect them before using, that cost me well over 1 hr of frustration and refishing the mounting bolts.
So now I am coming to habits I had 30 years ago in communism >> open the boxed item on the spot and inspect for functionality.
Still can't do much about customer support having me on phone hold for 45 minutes and not having qualify employee to answer my question.
