We really like the Glowsteps. (Full disclosure -- they sent it to me for free as a beta tester, several years ago.) Unlike when we had our steel steps, the trailer no longer shakes when I go in and out (and I weigh 230 lb.), and it is much safer when I am carrying a heavy load.
Although the "landing gear" for the steps almost always reach the ground, one time we were boondocking way up in the Uintahs of Utah in the rockiest and most unlevel site we have ever stayed in -- we had to find flat rocks to stack under the feet:

You can see in that shot that the threshold of the door is more than four feet off the ground. With our old steel steps, that would have been a real long jump!
