I have been up Sonora Pass and hyw 88. Don't think I ever was ever up Monitor pass though.
Did you ever get up Tioga pass before they made it a full 2 lane road? Been through there in late June and the cut through the snow was still higher than my dads Econoline. Went down the east side when they were still cutting in the 2 lane road. We all were amazed at those guys. Caterpillar tethered to a cat tethered to a cat tied into the granite. Almost swinging along the side of the mountain.
I met a guy maybe ten years ago. His father worked on that road. He had a lot of pictures from then. His dads stuff weren't hanging from a trailer hitch.
