Sorry about your insident and glad everyone is alright. Ive been driving trucks for over 35 yrs. I dont mind rain, sleet, snow, or fog, (you can see all of those). Its the wind you cant see, and it always bothers me when im in it.You go along with so much wind you kinda get use to it and then the gust that takes the tires off the ground! Hey you could still pull a popup with the Mazda. Camping is suppose to be very relaxing but as the weight police on here say if its a white knuckle drive then theres no relaxing. Have fun with Harley.
Towed popups in the eighties behind a Dodge Grand Caravan. Never a problem. Truth be told, I liked RVing more than the wife. She always thought it was so much trouble-getting all the stuff ready, setting up, taking down. Never mind that I handled most of all that! And, I wanted to do long-distance stuff more often. Head out for a month or so, taking in as many National Parks as I can. She didn't want to be gone from the two grandkids she babysits for that long, so I had to always combine a big RV trip with seeing the other grandkids. She liked the short weekend trips where we'd go somewhere close and just park it there for a few days. That's fine, but we've pretty much seen all the parks and sights around here.
If we do get to a few more National Parks, we'll do like non-RVers and fly there and rent a car. Not as much fun, but I guess it's a bit less work. With the Mazda5 we could drive and take the dogs, do the speed limit, and not be worried aboutt jack knifing a trailer!
