If you're only going to be spending a little time in the spring and fall in Montana I believe just about any of the travel trailers on the market will work. Of course you'll burn more propane during the cold nights in a travel trailer that is not a 4 seasons trailer but you should be comfortable enough. I would think that the temperature would rarely ever get into the single digits in the fall and spring in Montana and if they did it would just be a short period.
We live in our travel trailer 3 to 5 nights a week while I'm working out of town and the past few days it's been down to around 10 degrees F. here. We've been very comfortable but the furnace did run full time at night and we burned 30 pounds of propane during the past 4 days plus we ran a 1500 watt space heater in the bedroom at night. If you spent very much time in the cold weather in a trailer that is not insulated for it then it will get expensive but in your case it sounds like you can pick up and leave at just about anytime after your seasonal job is done.
My advice is to take your time making your decision on which travel trailer to buy because after all you are going to be spending a lot of time in the one that you chose. There's thousands or probably 10's of thousands of used travel trailers for sale at any given time so don't let a salesman make you think that if you don't buy the one he has on the lot right now that you'll never get another one.
Good luck to you and keep a positive attitude. After all new adventures should be fun!
